At FDSA there’s a history

At the beginning of the year I took a break, I had left my blog a bit abandoned, but these last three months I lived an experience that has impacted me a lot and I want to share it :-)

Last March I joined FDSA after a well-deserved professional break, FDSA is a Mallorcan programming company, and I agreed to join them in a three-month project to help them, specifically in the commercial and business area, giving support to their CEO, and, at present, the company is immersed in an expansion plan, in fact, while I write this post they are looking for new offices.

I have always said that I am a lucky person because I have the opportunity to meet extraordinary people, FDSA is an example.

I will focus on my human experience those three months, since I was part of the staff during my participation in the project.

Cool stuff :-)

My first day

The day I joined, as soon as I entered, the people from Administration, Elena, Fede and Silvia stood up and came to greet me, this caught my attention and I loved it, some of you might think, well, they knew you were coming, but, during the three months I was there, they did it with everyone, even with the postman, something that shows the human quality that the company has, and above all, it shows how comfortable they are. You can feel that they are happy to see you.

My place

My desktop was fully prepared, laptop, passwords, everything! Even my notebook had a welcome note, FDSA water bottle, personalized FDSA mug with my name, and a few days later a t-shirt.

I must admit that in three months, I felt as if it had been years, you feel integrated to the minute.

Programming, Internalization, Philosofy

A day at work.

Something that makes the difference in FDSA is how they are organized. As an expert in organizational agility, I found it very well organized, FDSA is a LEAN company, in fact it is the flag of the company. People have the power, that is, the CEO does not have to be there for things to work, I witnessed how people organized and decided as far as they could, but there was no extreme dependence on the CEO, empowerment and trust. In FDSA, overtime is prohibited, it is something that is taken very seriously. Transparency, honesty, ethics and commitment are some words that define the a normal day at work.

Technology

I have been lucky enough to meet amazing young people, guys and girls with a great personal commitment to their work, they are fans of FDSA and have a promising future, they celebrate their achievements together, have fun and enjoy. There are those who go over programming and others are better at helping. Organizationally, it is very good that the client could contact the team, with the less intermediaries as possible, something that as is not common in many companies.

At FDSA there’s ordinary people doing extraordinary things, people enjoy what they do

Facilities

I liked them a lot, modern, well organized and well maintained. Kanban panels everywhere, in fact, even administration uses them to organize their work. The supply of materials is fluid, the computer equipment lives up to it. Once I bring some coffee capsules that I like, and they said, NO! The next day, they had bought the coffee capsules that I liked :-)

Javier and Adriana

Partnerships

I was lucky to have worked with Javier Zaforteza and Adriana Gracia, from Borisgrafic, they and FDSA have a very special synergy. Each meeting with them was a master class in Communication and Design, sometimes I felt obliged to tell Javier, listen, how much I owe you for the class :-)

The CEO

Yes, Alejo, you are the CEO, you are a person, yes, a PERSON, a HUMAN being, you are great guy. I know you don’t like so much the “Boss”. I went to work in FDSA in this project for you, in the end the companies are the reflection of the CEO or its founder. You’re an admirable person, a friend, and that’s why it’s so hard for me not to be there now. Hopefully, what I have been able to do in three months will allow you to continue growing, I want to see FDSA continue to grow, as when a child leaves home to go to college, and I wish you can achieve all those goals we set.

“Through your influence, vision, ethics and authenticity you create a better reality for your family, community and organisation, where those around you and those who follow you are inspired to dream, learn and act” — Craig Dent

Paul Lockhart said, “It is the story that matters not just the ending”.
In FDSA there’s a history.

I love you guys, and I will miss you so much.
Let the party going on!
